Admission to the Seminary

Admission to the St. Peter and Paul Philosophical and Theological Seminary programs is limited to qualified men and women .  Each candidate for admission must be either sponsored by his Ordinary or Religious Superior or self sponsored and then approved by the Rector of the Seminary. After Philosophical and Theological Studies only those men who prove to be above reproach can proceed to apply for ordination in our Society of St. Peter and Paul. For priests it is a prerequisite to have bachelor of Philosophy before you are allowed to do Bachelor in Theology. We keep the dictum Philosophy is the handmaid of Theology.

Applicants
All applicants whether for the diocese or religious community must be at least high school graduates and must give clear evidence that they have the ability to meet scholastic requirements.
College courses already successfully completed are evaluated by the Academic Dean of the seminary in the light of the curriculum of Saint Peter and Paul Seminary and, wherever possible, credits already earned are accepted in transfer as transferred into either general education or elective requirements of the Seminary’s college program.
Through its admissions process, Saint Peter and Paul Seminary is interested in determining that an applicant is of high moral character and manifestsimbued the right intention of studying for the priesthood. Saint Peter and Paul Seminary’s Admissions Office relies heavily on the judgment of the respective vocation director and bishop or religious superior concerning the suitability of applicants. Serious attention is given to recommendations attesting to the exemplary standing of each applicant within his parish community.
