Introduction
Guidance and Counselling is oriented to helping students understand themselves, become self-sufficient in making realistic and positive choices and grow in human relationships and concerns. The course clearly examines the fundamental psycho / educational and career development principles & theories which impact on Guidance. It requires considerable reading, independent study, team / group work and clarification of values exercises and active class participation.

Who is this programme for?
This two year (can be shortened) Guidance & Counselling programme is designed for persons involved in the education, growth and development of youth. It begins with an introduction to the basic tenets & principles of guidance. The specialized care of Guidance – Counselling – is examined theoretically and practically. Tied in with this is an understanding of psycho-educational development.

Programme Structure
Classes are held twice/trice weekly, Monday-Friday 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Arrangement is usually between the lecturer and Students)

When will the programme start?
This programme starts in September and normally runs for Two (2) Academic  years (4 Semesters).The duration can be shortened based on the coverage of the courses.

Entry Requirements
 Applicants should be:
1.    Trained Teachers or in training like University students
2.    Persons who possess a degree in Behavioural Science
3.    All those working in front office in public and private sector
4.    Those who are in the field working with communities, social workers, Hospitals
5.    Any other person to be determined by the Rector of the Seminary
